Hello & welcome to the Belvoir Vale Bowls Club website.
Our Club is situated just outside the village of Hose in the Vale of Belvoir (an area of outstanding natural beauty).
We provide social and competitive bowling opportunities for people wishing to play the game. We are a small friendly group looking to expand and welcome members of all abilities. We are able to coach beginners during the season which is mid April to September inclusive.
The Club plays social games against other clubs in Leicestershire, Rutland, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire, as well as having teams in the Belvoir Triples League.
Due to our location we also play games under English Bowling Federation rules and enter a team in the Belvoir Two-wood League.
Many of our members represent our club in indoor bowling in Melton Mowbray during the winter.
We have built our own clubhouse, which has changing and toilet facilities, as well as a sizeable club room where we host guests before after after matches and a kitchen.
Social events are held throughout the year including an annual lunch, skittles evenings and quizzes open to members and friends.
We hope that the following pages will give you just a flavour of what we are about and the warm welcome you will receive.
How to find us:
In addition to finding a map on our main contact page -
From Leicester – exit A46 at Six Hills, initially follow signs for Belvoir Castle. Go over two major X-roads (Shoby and A606) Approx 2 miles after A606 X-road, turn left signposted Long Clawson. At the junction at the bottom of the hill, bear right. After approx 1 mile, just after Pasture Lane on right, on a sharp left hand bend, turn right. The club is 100yds along on the left and next to the Tennis Club.
From Grantham/A52 side - follow signs for Harby and then Hose. As you pass the Hose Village Hall on your left (to the rear - you may notice the Tennis clubs floodlights), you will come to a sharp left hand bend (look out for the Tennis & Bowls Club sign (White) on your left). Before the next sharp right hand bend take a left turn up a single carriageway lane. The club is 100yds on the left.
